Our current Winter Hours are from noon until 7 pm, Sunday-Saturday. Our full menu includes scooped ice cream, banana splits, sundaes, specialty coffees, lattes, cappuccinos, non-dairy smoothies, and milkshakes. We also have a variety of take-home options such as 4 oz. cups of ice cream and pints. We are a cashless facility and accept credit cards for payment along with Apple Pay. Due to biosecurity guidelines, our creamery does not allow pets on the property. We are located on the NC State Dairy Research and Teaching Farm and ALL precautions are taken to protect our precious commodity – the dairy cows.
For over half a century, generations of North Carolinians have savored our premium ice cream on NC State’s campus or at the North Carolina State Fair. The Howling Cow brand is also available at Harris Teeter supermarkets so you can enjoy it at home, tailgating, or at the beach. Howling Cow is made right here on campus at the Department of Food, Bioprocessing, and Nutrition Science’s Feldmeier Dairy Processing Lab in Schaub Hall. Our traditional recipes start with fresh milk and cream from our Raleigh farm, with top-quality ingredients added to create our many delicious flavors.
