Howling Cow

It's NC State's very own ice cream — and it's the coolest. Made by us, loved by all.

For over half a century, generations of North Carolinians have savored our premium ice cream on NC State’s campus or at the North Carolina State Fair. Howling Cow® ice cream is made right here on campus at the Department of Food, Bioprocessing, and Nutrition Science’s Feldmeier Dairy Processing Lab in Schaub Hall.

The Scoop

Our traditional recipes start with fresh milk and cream from our Raleigh Dairy Farm, with top-quality ingredients added to create our many delicious flavors.

Our full menu at the Creamery includes scooped ice cream, banana splits, sundaes, specialty coffees, lattes, cappuccinos, non-dairy smoothies, and milkshakes. We also have various take-home options, such as 4 oz. cups of ice cream and pints.
